About our Facilities

The Misericordia University Communications Department has one of the best college learning environments in the region. Our Media Center video studio and control room, field production equipment, and editing facilities rival that of some commercial media and broadcast companies.

The Media Center's television control room and studio equipment is all-digital. For field production, students work with cameras that use DVC Pro digital tape and utilize professional-grade portable lighting kits and sound equipment. The post-production facilities include two non-linear editing suites - one with FINAL CUT PRO and one with ADOBE PREMIER 6.0. Here students can do their work on either PC or Mac-based edit systems. There is also a linear video editing suite available.

For audio, the Media Center has two digital/analog audio production suites that use the ADOBE AUDITION system. While for duplication, there is a full CD/DVD/VideoCD recording and publishing facility.

Internet media lab has PC and Mac hardware, all running the latest Abobe and Quark design programs.

Journalism and web-writing courses are taught in the campus' best lab, located in the Benevino Library.
